Max Brenner

Chocolate fudge brownie sundae complete with a little pot of melted chocolate, chocolate waffle balls                       and caramelized pecans (In the background Dreamy Chocolate Cloud)

Well today I heading into Southbank with a friend to see HP7 and to go the the new Max Brenner Chocolate Bar which has opened recently in the Stanley Street Plaza. So how was it the movie was fantastic, but the real highlight of the day was lunch at Max Brenner (and yes I did have a chocolate sundae for lunch!!!). After reading the menu online of days leading up to this moment I still had no decided and my friend and I spent at least 15 minutes reading the menu board and commenting on how yummy it all sounded.
I decided to indulge in the amazing sundae pictured above, and as I took the first mouthful I knew I have made the right decision. Creamy chocolate ice-cream topped with large chunks of decadent chocolate brownie and caramelized pecans, but that was not all it came with a side of melted milk chocolate which i promptly used to flood the ice cream and crunchy chocolate covered waffle balls. After finishing lunch we discussed over and over what we would try when we returned in the not to distant future ( whilst sending friends pics of the spread we had just enjoyed) pizza topped with banana, mini marshmallows, caramelized pecans and chocolate , the amazing hot chocolates made from nothing but milk and melted chocolate, the chocolate fondue and the list of amazing chocolate treats goes on.

Needles to say Max Brenner will do well as a new addition to the popular Southbank precinct and will become a well loved favorite by many. If you are close or even a little further out Max Brenner is worth the visit and the drive!!!

Ill also add that while parking at Southbank is notoriously expensive I have started parking at the cultural center end of Southbank where parking can be found for $15 for the day in the car parks from QPAC to the Gallery of Modern Art. Not only is it significantly cheaper the walk along the riverside into the heart of Southbank is an enjoyable one.
